Konsul Gnadenwalze – Aššur & Cyclades [Album Release]

Free mp3 Album and Mix download goes here!

Konsul Gnadenwalze is the alter ego of two gifted musicians. On stage they combine energetic live shows with minimalistic visuals. Aside of the performances they are creating their own elaborate Konsul Gnadenwalze universe. A lovely mixture of pseudo-scientific and poetic references. They create dub-wise broken beat abstractions, beautiful and brutal, organic and mechanized at the same time. Each successive listen reveals new depths, pulling you further into the world of Konsul Gnadenwalze. A wired carousel ride with the ancient question of whether we revolve around our environment, or our environment revolves around us.

There is a limited physical distribution available with a special handcrafted booklet. Exclusively at shows and with luck when contacting the artist directly.

共生立方 SC#006 VA Compilation Release

Free Download goes here!

We are very happy to release our second various artist compilation. Again we feature electronic artists from all around the world – Iran, Japan, Taiwan, USA, Mexico, Russia and Germany. This is a global network based on friendship and the will and interest to express certain thoughts and emotions in an digital way and share it with others. Especially in 2014 – when we see the world shaken by sudden wars and political unrest – we want to submit this compilation to peace and freedom, regardless boarders and nations.

We start the selection with Odepth aka Arash Akbari from Iran. Compositions from Odepth are very moody with well designed pads – thoughtful and deep accelerating you for this sound journey.

Second we go with Abduct. Initially from Mexico is living in Budapest right now. Check out the page for his latest AV installation and more albums. Abduct is sound design at it’s best – as you might know from other posts here on SC.

Andi Finger is a publisher and artist from SC. This track is co-produced with Mephisto. The track has a lot of space and actually sounds like a good mixture of inspirations from Burial and Moderat.

Leaving the Planet is the Band of mine (David Gann) with Tzeshi and DorianDroid singing in this track. Recorded live in a gig in Lisbon.

r.m.ʝ〜ʎ is an artist from Japan. Her tracks have a lot of drive and push – combined with a happy mood. definitely a good listening!

The next track by GLASKIN is the one track that you want to have in your DJ set! ‘Party’s over’ is a great track and we are happy to have it in the mix. It is also ending the first thematic part in the compilation.

Second thematic part in this compilation is changing to a more urban and industrialized mood. It is introduced by Reverse Bullets – or Klaas van Carlos (Perfect Entropy) – who is currently oscillating between New York and Berlin as an independent film maker and producer.

This is also how we get to know Rowan J. Thyme from Virginia Beach in the US. He has a pretty cool urban style with really interesting tension curves in all the tracks. Absolutely recommending it!

‘Fossil of Flame’ is a solo track from Tzeshi (already appeared in the Leaving the Planet track). This is live PD patching going on here!

And at last we have a beautiful track from our friends YBSTN from St. Petersburg – They released already an album on SC and are doing fine with their AV installations and performances from what we hear. Many greetings at this point!

The artwork is produced from raw VVVV renderings from Kyle McLean (

That’s it. Hope everyone enjoys it. Leave us some feedback and share it.

Sounds from the Piezo Workshop Köln – Free Samples

SC @ Piezo Sound Workshop Köln 15Feb2014 part1 by symbioticcube

SC @ Piezo Sound Workshop Köln 15Feb2014 part2 by symbioticcube

In February we visited a Piezo Workshop hosted by ON Cologne in Köln. After assembling a couple of contact microphones, the participants were trying different way of sound creation with it. I was live processing the result in Ableton with some newly acquired Waves Audio Plugins. I uploaded everything here so you can use it as free audio sample material for your production.

Here is also the original description of the workshop in German language:

Leaving the Planet – 2967 [Album Out Now]

“2967 – Planet Earth is nothing more then a lifeless, toxic and radioactive ice dessert, covered with the slowly but surely fading remains of a once shiny, prospering human civilisation. The dispersing atmosphere and debris of centuries of space travel have formed a giant belt around the lost world. This is the last habitat of a few thousand post-human individuals, living in massive orbital vaults. It is this year in which suddenly a crystalline object enters the solar system and begins with a controlled swing-by maneuver around the sun, with only one possible target: Earth. Young ZU9 is observing the breathtaking event with the growing awareness that the unknown traveller is trying to get in contact with her via mysterious hyper-dimensional waves. In her dreams she lives through beautiful and frightening visions from the past and she walks on alien-like worlds that can only be the birth place of the interstellar arriver…”

It is finally there The first official Leaving the Planet Album. All tracks but the last one are remastered recordings from live shows in between 2010 and 2013. Thanks to everyone who supported us in all these years. We came quite a long way. Also prepare for a lot of more albums and – maybe (?!) – even a Leaving the Planet film. Ah and before I forget… It is for free. So make sure to tell everyone!

Schwarzwald – Guns, Drums and Rattles Mixtapes

Schwarzwald - Guns Drums and Rattles

Symbioticcube is presenting the “Guns, Drums and Rattles” mixtape from Schwarzwald, an artist exploring the musical traditions of trance and ecstasy by using field recordings and overlapping percussive patterns in his songs. His mixtapes blend his own pieces into a wide selection of his own acoustic inspirations. Here, we will travel from Peru to Iraq, from Mali to Nepal and back to Egypt. During this journey, superior musical principles and the power of the moment alternate with one another. Enjoy this genre blasting audio-piece, that is much more than just an ordinary mixtape.

LTP @ Roböexotica 2013 Vienna

Just short. Enjoy the mixes and of course the new track and music video that I produced short before the event because of the massive inspiration from the set list I had at hands.
The robots were amazing too. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures from them. Was too much occupied by robot arms serving drinks and steam punk mechanisms doing things that you could not even imagine, and playing the set of course.
